The Fire Summer Art Camps
Looking for a way to harness all that creative energy in your son or daughter this summer? Let The Fire’s summer art camps help you out! Now in our tenth year, our goal is to offer a fine arts experience for everyone at an affordable price. We want to give your child the opportunity to use his or her intelligence and creativity while making beautiful art.

1.  June 15th
Magical Garden
We’ll be spending the morning decorating all the essentials for an enchanting fairy garden! Projects for this day will include painting ceramic gnomes and garden stakes as well as creating a fairy lantern.

2. June 22nd
Let Your Light Shine!
Come into the light! … Or at least make one! Design, snip, and score your own night light to be assembled by The Fire staff. Cozy up afterwards with some microwave s’mores!

3. June 29th
Firework, Chalk and Bubble Painting
Spend the morning outside experimenting with erupting chalk art, bubble snakes, & giant bubbles! We’ll be using similar techniques to paint a keep sake box.

4. July 6th
Glass fused Owl Plate
Learn to score, nip, and even bend glass in a candle flame all while making your own glass fused owl plate. Owl design can be deviated from as the artist sees fit.

5. July 13th
Vintage Mosaic Frame / Photo Walk
We’ll take disposable cameras for a stroll along College Avenue and let our budding photographers shoot a variety of fun images. Then they will mosaic their own picture frame to display their favorite image. (Parents will have to develop pictures, just like in the olden days! Disposable cameras included in cost).

6. July 20th
Peace, love, Tie Dye and Marble Magic
We have oodles of non-traditional tie dye methods & we want to experiment with you! We’ll be using these techniques on a canvas bag and t-shirt. We will keep the groovy vibes flowing as we try out these same techniques on a ceramic peace sign.

7. July 27th
Picasso Planter!
We’ll have fun wedging, rolling, and shaping clay into a hanging Picasso style planter. Then, we’ll let you into The Fire’s super top-secret kiln room to find out who makes the most ceramics in the world(hint they’re in Wisconsin). Please Note: Because we are using wet clay the turn around time for these projects will be longer. We need the clay to fully dry before we fire it to avoid breakage. Please allow us 3 weeks for these pieces.

8. August 3rd
Feed the Birds …
& your creativity. In this camp you will be painting a saucer and tea cup that will be made into a bird feeder in our kiln by firing the cup sideway onto the plate. That way the handle of the cup will make for a perfect hanging apparatus. We will also be experimenting with Sgraffito using a feathers to decorate your feeder.

9. August 10th
Doodle a Day
We’ll create a personalized booklet filled with drawing activities designed to expand creative minds! This camp will involve interactive drawing challenges, using alternative items to design and stamp book pages, marbling paper using shaving cream, painting with bubbles, we’ll even make a stamp using corn on the cob! Then use these same techniques on ceramic tiles that will be made into a awesome hanging plaque.

10. August 17th
Collage + Mosaic
Personalize the first letter of your name with a collage and mosaic piece! First we will be decorating with patterned paper, fun quotes, and photos. Then we will use a mix of clear glass and funky tiles to complete the mosaic portion of the project. We encourage you to bring photos to be used on your mosaic collage. Photos printed professionally work best.
